The Last Night on Earth

"Very emotional"

date: September 2, 2007

You have a very nice piece here. Very emotional as well.

If I might make a suggestion though, I'm not sure if it's just the program you're using, but when the upper strings are playing to compliment the cello, I think that they should decrescendo instead of crescendoing and then just stopping. I hope that makes sense XD It just kind of takes away the overall effect.

Nice work ^_^

Author's Response:

Yeah, I see what you mean there. However, having the strings fading like that is REALLY typical of sad pieces, and I try to stay away from the norm in my compositions. Well, the strings are crescendoing, but the cutoffs make it more unpredictable (though the notes last the same length in each measure). But anyway, it would have a softer sound with the fade; I did consider it. I just decided against it : D Thanks for pointing that out though.

Glad you enjoyed the piece.

Rocky

I adore piano music, and you pulled this one off great.
Everything is in order amazingly, the pianos, fortes, ect. The chords are great.
To be honest, I dont personally know about piano music, only listen to it. But you have yourself a superior piece!

I cant wait to hear more from you.

"Outstanding"

I was going through some of your songs earlier today and when I first listened to this piece I was in love. It has so much emotion and depth to it! To be honest, it sounds like something from Hans Zimmer (which if you dont know, that's a big compliment :P)

If you dont mind, I think I'm going to use this in an upcoming piece of mine called Mist of the Void. It's not for sure, but I would love to use this!

Of course, I downloaded it :P I've been listening to it over and over. There isnt anything I would change about it. I would like to know though what program you used. It would be great if you let me know :D

Please, keep up the great work!

Author's Response:

just used FL. FL has endless potential for anyone. you can do virtually anything with it...however, i recently discovered a program that is much better for classical-type songs...its called Symphonic Orchestra by East West. but anyway, go ahead and use it! and i have no idea what hans zimmer is, but i am sure my music is no where near as good. will be some day though :P

anyway, thanks for the review! and i will keep up the "good" work
